ABOUT
Szymon Wójcik — is a composer, guitarist, and improviser whose practice focuses on exploring liminal harmonic states beyond the traditional Western major–minor dichotomy, with a particular focus on psychoacoustic phenomena and the subtleties of tuning and intonation.
He is also interested in non-obvious genre combinations and in the transformation and deconstruction of tradition. In his work, he combines synthetic sounds with acoustic instruments, creating compositions for instrumental ensembles, electroacoustic works, and sound installations. His music has been performed by, among others, Ensemble Musikfabrik.
He studied composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne with Brigitta Muntendorf and Michael Beil, and at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen with Ellen Arkbro and Marc Sabat.
His latest album, when you rub your eyes, you see things you can’t describe, was released by Sawyer Editions on January 16th, 2026.
